Bio
Dr. Dennis Kinnane has been a student and practitioner of the healing arts for over 40 years. After graduating from Purdue University in 1969 with a 5-year Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, he passed the Indiana boards and was licensed as a pharmacist. He practiced as a retail pharmacist in Indiana until 1974.
In 1974 Dr. Kinnane passed the California board exam and moved to Los Angeles where he continued his pharmacy career, gaining experience in both retail and hospital settings. In 1984, feeling drawn to alternative medicine, Dr. Kinnane returned to school full time to study Oriental medicine at SAMRA University of Oriental Medicine in Los Angeles.
Dr. Kinnane graduated in 1987 with a Master of Science degree in Acupuncture and Herbology and then continued on to earn a Doctor’s Degree in Oriental Medicine in 1988 from SAMRA University. Dr. Kinnane also passed the Acupuncture Board exam that same year and became a Licensed Acupuncturist.
As well as acupuncture and both Western and Oriental herbal medicine, Dr. Kinnane has made in-depth studies of yoga, Chinese qi gong, cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, reiki and massage therapy. He has had three initiations into Huna, the ancient Polynesian healing practice, and is also a master of metaphysics.
Dr. Kinnane has been engaged in the practice of Oriental Medicine in Torrance, California since April of 1989. During the ensuing 20+ years Dr. Kinnane has treated many patients seeking either an alternative to Western medicine or who have come in their last hope of relief, having exhausted all Western methods for treating a chronic condition.

Dennis is the ONLY doctor I would ever consider for purchasing Chinese Herbal Medicine. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Dr. Dennis Kinnane for using his skills and knowledge in the areas of acupuncture and herbal medicine to help me through years of treatment for metastasized breast cancer. I know that my reactions to the powerful but toxic medications I was taking through the traditional western medicine were greatly reduced and I was able to manage the experiences and continue working because of the treatments I received from Dr. Kinnane.
We have worked at combating fatigue, nausea, pain, infections, liver metastasis, pleural effusion and now kidney issues. The acupuncture and the herbs have been used along with the western drugs and have not seemed to hamper the effectiveness. In fact some of the western drugs have worked surprisingly well, as has my recovery from various side effects according to the doctor in charge of my cancer treatments.
